An environmentally friendly doggy loo is available in the garden. Carisbrook Castle, Osborne House (Queen Victoria’s summer home), Mottistone Manor Garden and Brighstone Shop and Museum (both NT), the zoo at Sandown, the steam railway, boat museum and Botanic Gardens are all in easy reach. Shop and pub 0.25 miles.

Seagulls Rest is a spacious, light and airy property with fabulous views over the sea and Ventnor harbour. It is suprisingly well equipped, making us feel that we were home from home, and the owners and their house-keeper were very attentive to our needs, without being intrusive.

Ventnor is a seaside town on the south coast of the Isle Of Wight, England. It is located not far from Bonchurch, Wroxall, Shanklin and Whitwell and is one of around 50 towns and villages in Isle Of Wight in which Go2 has cottages or holidays lets available. The closest cities are Portsmouth (population 187,056), Southampton (population 234,224), and Winchester (which has a population of 41,420 according to the 2001 Census).
Ventnor was established as a resort during the Victorian era. It is sited on underneath St Boniface Down with steep cliffs and slopes leading down to the sea. This location shelters the town from exposure to weather experienced elsewhere on the island and gives it a microclimate with more sunlight than elsewhere in Britain. This climate is ideal for the growing of tropical plants, many of which can be seen at Ventnor Botanic Garden.
